Russian grammar for beginners eight lesson
In this lesson you will practise how to build Russian sentences. Last time we’ve started to talk about Russian grammatical cases and about nominative case in particular. We found out, that in Russian language the subject of the sentence must be in Nominative case. Today we will try to expand these sentences and include an object. So, today we will learn one more Russian grammatical case – accusative case. In Russian language accusative case is used in many cases, in this lesson we will look at one of them. We will use it when a predicate is a transitive verb, in this case a direct object will be in accusative case. In such sentences you don’t have to employ Russian prepositions. In addition, we will talk about Russian verbs, conjugation and consonant interchange in verb stems in the present tense. In our previous Russian lesson for beginners you can find some more information about conjugation of Russian verbs and declension of Russian adjectives.

For example, verb видеть : вижу , видишь , видит , видит , видим , видите , видят . As you see, just one form instead of the letter д has ж ( вижу ) in its stem. Verbs of the second conjugation interchange consonants in all their forms in the present tense.
